When we arrive to your house to sweep and inspect your chimney, we start by covering the area that surrounds your fireplace with tarps. To control the dirt and dust that comes out of your chimney, we will set up a high powered vacuum with a triple layer HEPA filter.
The Mad Hatter will sweep and scrub your chimney from top to bottom.
To sweep the flue, we use brushes on rods, and we scrub the smoke chamber and firebox clean with hand brushes. We also will clean and adjust your damper. Our sweeps will take great care to remove every bit of creosote that has accumulated on the inner walls of your chimney. A natural compound that forms during the combustion process of burning wood, creosote is so highly flammable that the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) has named it as a leading cause of chimney fires.

After we have swept the chimney, we will then closely examine the exterior of the chimney to look for damaged bricks and mortar.
